My name is Adam Bujalski and I am a Republican running for Elkhart County Council. I’m writing you today in hopes that you will take a few minutes to learn more about me and why I value our community enough to run for a Council seat.
I was born and raised in Detroit, MI and left home at the age of 18 to serve our country in the U.S. Army. After three and a half years of service, I was injured in the line of duty and medically discharged, leading me to relocate in 2005 to Northern Indiana. In 2006, I became a resident of Elkhart County where I have set down roots. I married county-native Reana Rigsby in 2012 and we are now raising five amazing kids within the Wa-Nee Community School district.
My goal is to be a servant leader for Elkhart County. I like to believe that I have a servant’s heart. Elkhart County has grabbed a big piece of that heart and sparked my desire become a leader in our community. I am currently the board chair for Junior Achievement/Lemonade Day Serving Elkhart County and the capital campaign co-chair for JA BizTown which will be launching in Elkhart County in the fall of 2020. I am a past chairman for the Elkhart County Young Republicans and past vice-chair for the Elkhart County Republican Party. Additionally, I served as vice-president/councilman at-large for the Elkhart Common Council, until my family moved outside the city limits to be closer to Reana’s family farm and childhood home. I coach little league baseball and youth soccer on a volunteer basis, and I donate my time to my kids’ classrooms and sporting events as needed.
Faith is a large part of who I am, and my family are parishioners at St. John the Evangelist in Goshen. I currently serve on the Leadership Council for the Elkhart Chamber Leadership Academy, of which I myself am a graduate. I am also a member of the Public Policy and Ambassador Committee for the Goshen Chamber of Commerce.
